It Was BOOM BOOM POW Before I Realized I Left The 1-Minute Screen Saver Mode On During Recording...Ugh.

I got that boom boom pow!

You know what’s fun about new gear? Learning it. Ha. Especially when you run into problems! The other day I was doing some video recording with a friend as we did a one shot take on Black Eyed Peas “Boom Boom Pow” without ever before even rehearsing it. Honestly, I felt really good during the take regardless of without even ever practicing it before. On top of that, I’ve just recently been getting my mix on implementing my Ableton Live / Launchpad rig while I bang buckets and no where am I near mixing cleanly while I play buckets simultaneously yet! In fact I am still refining all of my own templates that I have spent months designing on the Launchpad which I plan on selling soon! So yeah it’s a work in progress. But over all the performance has a lot of good stuff in it for a complete improv!

Unfortunately though, like I said, I am still learning new gear and I didn’t realize that my screen saver mode was currently set to 1 minute so me and my guy were wonder why it kept cutting out every time we would record something! At first I was like, “damn is my new camera already broke!?”. I’ve been regarding in this 40 degrees weather too so I wasn’t sure if that had something to do with it either but I figured that wasn’t the case because GoPro’s are meant for this kind of stuff. We eventually realized the camera was cutting out consistently at 1 minute so I figured it had to be a setting. Fortunately it was! Too bad we found out after we shot this performance though!

Regardless, it’s kind of fun watching a performance split up like this because then you can isolate different sections! However, there is no doubt I wish this would have been recorded correctly as the gaps between each video are really annoying! No worries, I’m definitely going to re-record this track at a later date once I have it down really crisp because this is such a damn good drumming song! But yeah, enjoy my performance! I have a ton of stuff coming out daily now so stay tuned!
